SNASK is one of the most creative and bold design studios out there. They are known for doing things their own way, without following the usual rules and they mix that boldness with a great sense of humor. While their work often looks fun and playful, they take every project seriously and put in a lot of effort. From branding projects to quirky side activities, SNASK is all about challenging the norm and enjoying the process.

One of the things that put SNASK on the map is their creation of the world-famous “Shower Beer” a fun and unusual product that captures their playful spirit. But that’s just the beginning. They also run their own rock band Väg and even manage a design conference, all while handling their regular design business. Their approach is fearless and full of creativity and it’s clear they aren’t afraid to mix fun with hard work.

When Freddie from SNASK was asked what three things people should know about the studio, his answer was simple: “We love pink, champagne, and rock ‘n’ roll. The conservative world is our biggest enemy. And we have a bar, a beer, a bike, a rock band, a track & field event and more.” This sums up their attitude – SNASK is not just about design, it’s a lifestyle filled with creativity, fun and pushing against old-fashioned ideas. Freddie also shared that the best clients to work with are those who have both ambition and the budget to support it. When it comes to dream projects, SNASK has a bold one in mind – they would love to rebrand North Korea once it becomes a free democracy. It’s a wild idea, but that’s just how SNASK thinks – always looking for something different and challenging.

Life inside the studio is full of odd but fun traditions. For example, everyone loves eating Italian cookies. But one of their most unique habits started by accident- when the Wi-Fi stopped working, they started a FIFA video game tournament called the “Non-Wifi Tournament” and it’s been going ever since.

Their side projects are just as daring as their design work. Apart from the famous “Shower Beer” they’ve also created their own merchandise, bike and even their own track and field event. Over the years, SNASK has learned some important lessons. One of the biggest is to not be afraid to do things their own way and to learn from mistakes rather than fear them. Freddie is also strongly against traditional resumes, especially in the creative industry. Instead, he advises design students to focus on writing personal letters to potential employers and showing only their best work in their portfolios, as bad projects can hurt their chances.

When asked who he’d switch lives with for a day, Freddie had two interesting choices: Bill Murray and Janis Joplin. He admires Bill Murray’s relaxed, humorous way of living, while Janis Joplin’s life was a mix of struggle and incredible experiences.

One of the studio’s funniest recent purchases was a fart machine, which they hid behind the toilet seat. It has since malfunctioned and now goes off randomly, sometimes embarrassing guests or clients. This is a perfect example of SNASK’s sense of humor – immature, but undeniably funny. If SNASK could put up a giant billboard, Freddie says it would be digital and show people admiring themselves in a mirror. This idea comes from their office, where they have a mirrored window and people often stop to check their reflections.

Freddie key advice to young designers for entering the industry is: forget about resumes. Instead, write personal and engaging letters and make sure your portfolio only includes your best work. And most importantly, don’t listen to conservative advice – it will only hold you back. SNASK believes in breaking the mold, learning through trial and error and always pushing for something new and exciting.
